Communications officer for the Sports Engineering journal

Posted 4 months ago

Sports Engineering is the official journal of the International Sports Engineering Association (ISEA). The editorial team are looking to appoint a communications officer, to help us in promoting journal activities and publications (e.g. those in Topical Collections and invited papers) to our authors, readers, the media and the wider sports science, technology and engineering community. A key aspect of the role will be to manage and grow the reach of our Twitter account (Sports Engineering@ISEA_Journal), which currently has >1,300 followers, while producing reports to inform our social media strategy. Alongside online communication, the successful candidate will be expected to lead communications with our Editorial Board while promoting the journal through other channels, such as in person and with printed material at relevant meetings and conferences. The role would be well suited to a research student or early career engineer with an interest in academic publishing and science communication.

The initial tenure would be for one year, and the candidate would receive a stipend of £500 and ISEA membership for the duration of the role.

Further details on the journal are on the website: www.springer.com/engineering/mechanics/journal/12283
