The Engineering department is looking for lecturer to join our team of excellent teaching and knowledge exchange staff in Product Design Engineering. The team provides taught courses at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including specialist Design courses – BSc Product Design Engineering and MSc Industrial Digitalisation – and supports multi-disciplinary projects and design teaching on general and applied Engineering courses – MEng/BEng Mechanical Engineering, MEng/BEng Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and MSc Electronic Smart Systems Engineering and MSc Mechanical Smart Systems Engineering.
You will be able to benefit from and contribute to PrintCity – a modern digital manufacturing facility specialising in additive manufacturing – and our research in materials, surface engineering and smart infrastructure. A key part of the role will be to support the Department’s engagement with industry and to incorporate developments in professional practice into the taught programmes and research agenda. We are looking for someone who will be innovative and enthusiastic about helping academic teams and students adapt to new software and technology and associated digital workflows.
You will have experience of manual and digital design communication, prototyping, CAD, CAM and/or CAE. Knowledge of Generative Design and/or Topology Optimisation across the design and manufacturing process would be an advantage, but not essential.
