Job Description & Person Specification:
We seek a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Biomedical/Sport Engineering. The postholder will contribute to our ambitious plans to continue to grow a new Department of Engineering at Nottingham Trent University. The Department is characterised by an innovative approach to education in partnership with industry, emphasising innovation and project delivery on a foundation of core engineering expertise. You will be an inspiring educator, who aims to develop project-based teaching in the context of real world applications, and thrives in a collegiate Department. You will have a PhD in a relevant Engineering discipline and an emerging record in research. Preferred research areas include Mechatronics and Control, VR and Simulation, Autonomous Systems, Wireless and RF communication, Prosthetics and Assistive Technology, Biotribology, Biomechanical Engineering, Biomimetics, Biomaterials properties and behaviour, Sport Engineering Technology, Sport Equipment / Clothing Optimisation, Human Factors and Ergonomics, Sustainable Engineering. A working knowledge of Industry 4.0 would be an advantage. We also welcome applicants with industrial experience. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape new developments in both teaching and research. Our plans include parallel investments in a number of other academic posts, a Medical Technology Research Centre, and a new dedicated Engineering building due to open in 2019. The successful candidate will have opportunity to develop research and teaching capability in purpose-built new facilities.
