Engineering staff at Manchester Metropolitan University teach across a portfolio of cutting-edge taught programmes of study, and work on a wide range of sector-leading Research and Knowledge Exchange projects funded by industry, Research Councils, NGOs and the Government. Our innovation, expertise and partnerships in design, modelling and simulation, bioengineering, healthcare technologies, advanced materials, renewable energy, communication systems and automation, drive Education, Research and Knowledge Exchange which underpin the department’s activities. These are vital for applied engineering and design innovation in Industry 4.0, industrial digitalisation, to address global challenges and meet societal needs.
This is an opportunity to join the Engineering academic team as a Lecturer. Within the Department of Engineering and across all Faculties in the University, there are opportunities for cross-disciplinary research. We are seeking to appoint a suitable candidate who is an expert in Bioengineering and/or its related specialisms. They will contribute to teaching on our portfolio of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, in relevant subject topics and support multi-disciplinary projects across all levels of study. The candidate will have an appreciable track record of peer-reviewed publications in a related research area that complements the strengths and initiatives of our faculty-wide, active research community and demonstrates alignment to one of our Research Centres in the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
The successful candidate will hold a PhD in a relevant subject area and possess skills and competencies relevant to this position. They will demonstrate a commitment to research and industry-informed teaching, to acquiring external RKE funding to sustain research activity and to contribute to wider activities of the Department.
