Dear ISEA Members:
My apologies to those of you that have already voted. I am going to have to ask you to vote again. I made an error on the ballot. Due to term limits outlined in the Constitution, Viet Senner should not have been listed as a candidate in the Member At Large category. The ISEA constitution (available at this link (https://gallery.mailchimp.com/d7ebc6ed75d2eb724f3fef044/files/ISEA_Constitution_2014_07_15.pdf) ) provides for biennial elections of ISEA officers and the Executive Committee (EC). Candidates for president, treasurer, secretary, members at large, and student member have been assembled by a nominating committee directed by Kim Blair (Past President).
Each candidate was asked to fill out a candidate statement. The candidate statements appear in alphabetical order by last name. You can download the candidate statements here (https://gallery.mailchimp.com/d7ebc6ed75d2eb724f3fef044/files/_ISEA_Candidate_Statement.01.pdf) .
Please consider that the EC should represent the ISEA and thus the makeup of the EC should reflect the makeup of the ISEA. Representation from academia and industry and varied geographic location are desirable.
The election will be conducted online. Please exercise your right to vote by completing the ballot form no later than Wednesday 15 June 2016. (Do it now!) Instructions for how to complete the ballot are located on the ballot. You can vote at the following link.
The results of the election will be announced no later than the ISEA Annual General Meeting to be held at the 11^th Engineering of Sport Conference in July.

Journal of Sports Engineering – Journal Editorial Board Refresh
Dear ISEA members,
It has been four years since we renewed and reinvigorated our Editorial board. The time has come to move to a new, streamlined version which is keenly focused on reviewing and publication. All of our board have proven themselves to be high quality reviewers and they represent a wide range of expertise within the discipline of Sports Engineering.

** NEW Student Engagement Award
————————————————————
As a member of the International Sports Engineering Association (ISEA), you can apply for support to help you to engage and collaborate with the sports engineering community.
Our funds can be used to meet new contacts around the world, develop your special engineering skills and open up an exciting range of possibilities when looking for the next stage of your sports engineering career.
Examples of how your grant could be used:
* Travel costs for group visits to sports engineering companies;
* Travel or accommodation costs for individual visits to other institutions or companies with the intention to collaborate on area of study;
* Travel or accommodation costs for speakers at invitational guest lecture or seminar event (to be organised by the applicants, speaker to be an ISEA member);
* Organisation of public engagement event involving Sports Engineering (applicant must be a speaker or part of organising committee);
* Prize funds for Sports Engineering related competitions (organised by applicants).
* Other initiatives will be considered.
Awards
We can award individual grants up to: £500
We can award group grants up to: £1000
To apply
To apply for a grant, you must:
* Be enrolled as a student
* Be a member of the ISEA
* Complete the application form outlining how you will use the funds
* Include a supporting statement from a tutor or advisor at your enrolled institution
Application form (https://www.sportsengineering.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/Student-Engagement-Award.pdf) must be submitted before the activity or event takes place.
Grants can be applied for at any time during the year. Please allow two months for a decision on your application.
All the information can be found on the ISEA website.
After your award
During your event, please promote the ISEA (logo or brochures available if required).
Following your event or activity, we ask that you produce a report for inclusion into the ISEA newsletter.

Interested in becoming an Executive Committee member?

Dear ISEA Members
As you all know, the executive committee (EC) is elected on two-year cycles, and the new executive committee will take office at the next AGM to be held at the 11th Engineering of Sport Conference. The ISEA Constitution states that the executive committee consists of a President, Treasurer, Secretary, Past President and three to nine members at large and one student member. To be eligible for consideration, you must be an ISEA member in the years in which you are in office.
As Past President, Kim Blair is collecting a list of candidates to stand for election. If you are interested in being considered, please let him know. Likewise, if you know of someone that would be a great member of the EC, please either send along his/her name, or encourage him/her to contact Kim.
For the elected officers, a minimum of two candidates will stand for each office for the election. For the at large members, the nine with the most votes will be elected. (A person can run both for an officer and an at large position.) We do have term limits for both officers and members at large, so check with Kim if you are not sure of your eligibility.
Traditionally, the sports industry has been under represented on the EC relative to academia, so I do hope that those of you who are in industry will consider running.

Time to renew your membership for 2016

All ISEA memberships run from 1 January until 31 December each year. Therefore for a limited period all memberships are discounted by £10. If you renew ahead of the year end your membership will be extended to 31 December 2016.
ALL THE FEES BELOW WILL HAVE THE £10 DISCOUNT APPLIED WHEN YOU SELECT YOUR PAYMENT
Fees for 2016 will remain the same as 2015.
Full membership = £110 GBP
Long term membership (over 10 years) = £80 GBP
Early career membership (within 5 years post graduation) = £80 GBP
Student membership (no journal) = £30 GBP
Retired membership (no journal) = £30 GBP
