Annual General Meeting 2017 – please join the meeting later today!

Dear member,

The 2017 Annual General Meeting for the ISEA will be held via conference call on Wednesday 16th August at 21:00 BST. Use https://www.timeanddate.com/time/zones/bst

During the 2017 ISEA Annual General Meeting a vote will be held on a proposal to incorporate the ISEA as a charitable company (see the current bye laws document). This will require absolving the current constitution, and adapting new Articles of Association see the FAQ's. Please read this information carefully so that you can make an informed vote.

If you have any queries regarding these documents and wish to discuss them before the AGM, please get in touch with either myself (Rachel.W.Obbard@dartmouth.edu) or the ISEA Treasurer, David James (d.james@shu.ac.uk).

1st Sports Engineering Seminar Day

The 1^st Sports Engineering Seminar Day is taking place on 29^th March at Geoffrey Manton Building, Lecture Theatre 1, MMU, 11.30am – 7pm. This is a FREE event sponsored by the International Sports Engineering Association (ISEA) and MMU. The seminar day will provide an opportunity for undergraduates, masters and PhD students to get inspired to look at furthering a career in the sports engineering discipline. You will have the chance to listen to presentations from industry partners, external guest speakers and academics. Also, PhD students will be sharing their experience and give you an insight of what it is like to do a PhD. The presentations will cover topics from sports apparel, equipment mechanics, biomechanics and healthcare injury prevention. The event will be a great networking platform and you will be able to learn about upcoming project opportunities. Additionally, you can hear more about the ISEA and their work. Lunch upon arrival and refreshments will be provided.

Renew your ISEA Membership for 2017

Dear Member,

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that renewals are now due for your ISEA membership (for January-December 2017).

To renew your membership, firstly please visit the website to find out if you are in a position to change your membership category: https://www.sportsengineering.org/membership/join-the-isea/

If you wish to remain on the same membership type, please login to the members portal on the website and click the ‘Extend’ link next to your membership expiry date (https://www.sportsengineering.org/membership/online-members-area/). You will then be given the option to pay by Credit/Debit card or request an invoice.

If you would like to change your membership type then you will also need to login to the members portal but instead click the ‘Upgrade’ link. You will then be able to select your new type and proceed to payment as before.

The membership fees published on the website are valid for early renewals up to 31 January 2017. After this date all memberships will be subject to an additional £15.

Please note, that although you can renew or join at any time of the year, all full memberships run from January to December. If you renew later than January, you will be sent copies of the journal published previously in the year, but your membership will still expire at the end of December.

Thank you very much for supporting the ISEA and being part of the sports engineering community. Currently, the executive committee are working hard on changing our legal status in order to ensure the ISEA remains a successful organisation.
