Introducing the ISEA International Lecture Series on Sports Engineering

We are delighted to introduce the ISEA International Lecture Series on Sports Engineering. The lecture series aims to disseminate research activities carried out within the field of sports engineering. The topics covered will include, but not be limited to, biomechanics, development and/or testing of sports equipment, sport performance monitoring, safety and injury prevention.

Once per month, well-known speakers from all over the world will be invited to the lecture series to present their advances in sports engineering related projects. Given the international nature of this event, talk times will be determined based on the time zone of the invited speaker.

Our first lecture will be held on 26th June 2023 where Professor Steph Forrester (Sports Technology Institute, Loughborough University, UK) will give a talk on Player-Surface Traction on Synthetic Turf Pitches. In addition, she will take the opportunity to invite attendees to the upcoming ISEA2024 – 15th International Conference on the Engineering of Sport taking place at Loughborough University from 8-11th July 2024.

If you want to nominate yourself as a future speaker or just want to know more please feel free to get in touch with us!

The Lecture Series is organised by the ISEA Outreach Committee:

Giuseppe Sanseverino

Akihiro Matsuda

Patrick Drane

Annual General Meeting 2017 – please join the meeting later today!

Dear member,

The 2017 Annual General Meeting for the ISEA will be held via conference call on Wednesday 16th August at 21:00 BST. Use https://www.timeanddate.com/time/zones/bst

During the 2017 ISEA Annual General Meeting a vote will be held on a proposal to incorporate the ISEA as a charitable company (see the current bye laws document). This will require absolving the current constitution, and adapting new Articles of Association see the FAQ's. Please read this information carefully so that you can make an informed vote.

If you have any queries regarding these documents and wish to discuss them before the AGM, please get in touch with either myself (Rachel.W.Obbard@dartmouth.edu) or the ISEA Treasurer, David James (d.james@shu.ac.uk).
